There has been lots of excitement over the upcoming extracurricular programmes, which offer a wide range of different activities at both the Primary School and High School.
'Come and Try Weeks' offered students the opportunity to sign up for sports - both their favourites as well as those they may have never tried before. During these weeks, students join training sessions where they can enjoy getting involved in something different and then decide if they want to join this sport as an activity.
Now that the activities selection date has passed, our school’s activities algorithm will begin sorting everyone’s choices taking into account their first choices and their preferences to ensure a fair balance is reached. This provides us with the fairest way to allocate slots for each extracurricular activity. Once this has taken place, our teams will see where additional sessions or offerings can be added in order to create more availability for oversubscribed options. At the end of this process, parents will be able to see their child's confirmed selections.
Our garden area at school was recently turned into an archaeology site for Year 3s hunting for dinosaur bones.
Year 13 students came over from High School to take a look at the Primary School waterways. The purpose was to create their own projects based on the redevelopments that have taken place at the Primary site over the last year.
Our FS3 sustainability project was a huge success, with the children learning about the importance of sustainability and exploring different ways to be kinder to the planet.
Last week we launched our first SuSTEAMability week. It was a fantastic experience that all the staff and students enjoyed. Students got involved in a wide range of sustainable projects.
On Friday 28th April, there was a very well-attended and successful meeting at the High School for parents of our current Year 6 students.
