Our FS3 sustainability project was a huge success, with the children learning about the importance of sustainability and exploring different ways to be kinder to the planet. Throughout Term 2, the FS3 children worked closely with their teachers to create sustainable art, make recycled paper, reuse paper bags for our “Not a Bag” Juilliard lesson, and even grow vines in the classroom to replace plastic ones. The project culminated in our Planet Party at the beginning of Term 3, where the children sold tickets, raffle tickets, and popcorn. In addition, parents watched a film of the children explaining everything they had done. The event also included an art auction, where parents could walk around and bid on the fantastic artwork created by the children. Second Chance, an organization that upcycles second-hand clothes and promotes sustainability, also set up a stall, and all proceeds from the event went to support their mission. It was an excellent opportunity for our FS3 children to show off their hard work and dedication to creating a more sustainable future.

Last week we launched our first SuSTEAMability week. It was a fantastic experience that all the staff and students enjoyed. Students got involved in a wide range of sustainable projects.
As part of the St Andrews Careers programme, Year 10 and Year 12 students had the valuable opportunity to hear from 20 industry professionals, including alumni, about various career pathways. The morning panel discussions provided insights into professional routes, required qualifications, and essential interpersonal skills for workplace success.
As Term 3 comes to an end, three senior students, Eleonore, Natalie, and Ananya, reflect on their experiences in the IB Diploma Programme at St Andrews International School Bangkok. Perhaps one of the most meaningful projects Ananya and Natalie took on during their senior studies was starting a foundation with a few other friends called Today4tomorrow – an initiative to provide opportunities to underprivileged girls in Thailand.
