Thursday 2nd June saw STA Primary enjoy our International Day. It really was fantastic to see everyone dressed up in their national costumes and colours. It is always a great reminder that we have so many different nationalities represented at the school.

Back in the classrooms on the day and in the days leading up to the event, many interesting and fun learning experiences were happening around the school. Some parents kindly came in and shared their country's customs and culture with our younger students.
The students got to experience different countries from around the world as the teachers chose a country and shared activities with them. There was a British tea party, sunset picture-making from Ghana and learning how to perform the haka from New Zealand.
Thank you to all the teachers, parents and students that worked so hard to bring the school alive and truly celebrate this special occasion.
Mr Steve Deputy Head
I would like to thank the whole STA community for making such a wonderful effort to help us celebrate the British Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. It was great to see so many of our students dressed up and enjoying the day. Many classes did activities to learn about the Jubilee and there was even a special guest appearance in Year 4!! The students had prepared some questions to ask her about her life and asked what it was like to be Queen of the UK. Lots of students wanted to know about her famous corgi dogs!
Last week our Eco-Beasts enjoyed a day learning about plant based cooking from a group called Nourishing Tomorrow. This group is working with schools to support changing diets in school, which we already do in St Andrews on our Meat Free Mondays. The groups worked with our ECOBEASTS, showing them how to create tasty, nourishing meals that could be meat alternatives. The students had a great time and were able to create some really great looking meals and drinks. Well done everyone!
