Maths really was EVERYWHERE at Primary

Maths really was EVERYWHERE at Primary - Maths really was EVERYWHERE at Primary

Last Friday, the STA Primary campus was transformed into a celebration of all things maths! The day was packed with engaging, hands-on activities across all year groups, making maths truly come alive for our students.

  • Year 6 took on a creative twist, incorporating maths into Kandinsky-inspired abstract art.

  • Year 5 joined the fun with a break-time maths competition hosted by Mr. Bob and Ms. Nat.

  • Year 4 explored algebra basics with a playful theme, "One is a Snail, Ten is a Crab."

  • Year 3 enjoyed a variety of activities, from battleships to addition bowling.

  • Year 2 spent the week creating maths games and even made cookies with Mrs. Meg, mixing maths with a bit of baking.

  • Year 1 explored number lines with the help of VEX Robotics.

  • EYFS focused on sorting, categorising, and organising objects, learning about properties in a fun, hands-on way.

To add to the excitement, students came dressed in costumes inspired by numbers, shapes, and mathematical tools like clocks, rulers, and calculators. With creative flair, they made use of old boxes, fabric, and all sorts of materials to showcase their love for maths.

Times Table House Battle: The Grand Finale!

The day ended on a high note with the much-anticipated Times Table House Battle! The school Sports Hall was buzzing as students from Year 3 to Year 6, representing the four houses—Akha, Lahu, Yao, and Karen—faced off in a thrilling times table showdown. The leaders of each house inspired their teams, and the competition was intense as students raced to complete challenges, showing incredible speed and skill. The energy was infectious, and the enthusiasm for maths was truly a sight to see.

Well done to each house who earned house points:
