Remembrance Day Reflection

Written by Eloise - Year 12, Senior Studies Student

Each year, the British Club in Bangkok, Thailand holds a ceremonial service in honour of Remembrance Day on the 11th of November. On four occasions, I have had the privilege of representing St Andrews International School Bangkok at this event in the laying of a poppy wreath.

Growing up, I vividly remember attending this annual event, learning the importance of why we must remember the many brave soldiers who lost their lives. And how I play a role in ensuring their sacrifice is never forgotten. Representing my school is a privilege I serve with gratitude and appreciation as I carry on an annual tradition within my family but also have gained the opportunity to act for my community of peers and teachers in saying our thanks to all who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

The experience has always been memorable, especially since I am always accompanied by a staff member from our STA circle, which helps to further showcase our community's respect for those who served.
