There was a great turn-out at the PTG Meeting last week with a lively discussion on a wide range of subjects. The PTG Committee would like to thank parents for taking the time to attend the meeting and make valuable contributions to help improve our school.
Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend the PTG Meeting last Wednesday. It was great to see so many people and this led to some very lively discussions. You can look for the Minutes of our meeting on Moodle in the near future. There was a great deal of positive feedback for Mr Bevin’s “Week of Work” proposal and he will be incorporating your ideas moving forward.
One of the major issues of concern to parents continues to be idling in the school car parks. If you have a driver, please instruct him to turn off then engine or alternatively, park in Max Valu on soi Pridi – this will have the dual benefit of reducing fumes caused by idling as well as liberating some much-needed parking spaces for parents who do not have drivers. Many parents have to travel great distances to get to school and their children then have breakfast in the car once they arrive at school. The Primary School has some very comfortable air-conditioned spaces where your children can have their breakfast. The coffee shop, Steps with Theera, is always happy to expand their produce so if you have any suggestions, for breakfast or just in general, please either talk to them directly or email the PTG on ptgchair@standrews.ac.th and we can submit your ideas. The former Bei Otto coffee shop near the main canteen has air conditioning and the PTG Room can always be made available.
Given the period of poor air quality that we have been experiencing in Bangkok recently, you might be interested in having a look at the following website: www.style-seal.com which has a huge range of filter masks available at very reasonable prices.
St Andrews International School Bangkok now has its own air quality monitors at both Primary School and High School and should soon be appearing as a location on the Air Visual App.
Some parents have volunteered to work on canteen issues so if you have concerns over the quality of the food served in our canteens or suggestions for improvements in the menu please let us know, again by email to ptgchair@standrews.ac.th.
Please remember that Lost and Found at the Primary School is located near the pool in the main canteen. It is run by parent volunteers and is open to everyone on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 07.00 a.m. to 8.30 a.m. Outside these times, parents are welcome to get the key from the School Office and check in Lost and Found for their lost items. Kindly remember to lock the room and return the key to the office afterwards. Students can tell their class teacher who will be able to take them to look for lost items. Please ensure that any item that your child brings into school, uniform, water bottles, lunch boxes etc, are clearly marked with the child’s name and class if possible. This makes the job of returning lost items so much easier and quicker. Anything that is not named will be kept in the Lost and Found Room.
As always, the PTG Committee is here to help you in any way we can. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us by email on ptgchair@standrews.ac.th or you simply talk to any of us if you see us around school.
