HISTORY AND HERITAGE

Swiss International School Dubai (SISD) was founded in 2015 by Omar Danial, a prominent Swiss businessman. A graduate of Collège du Léman in Switzerland, Omar envisioned an international bilingual school grounded in Swiss standards of excellence in the Middle East.

We first opened our doors to just 250 students. Today, our vibrant school is home to 2,500 learners from more than 100 countries. We’re proud to be one of just two boarding schools in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). We’re also the only Swiss-bilingual learning environment in the country. Our community has a distinctly European feel, with many of our children joining us from France, Germany, and Switzerland.


From day one, we’ve always set the highest standards. We’re ranked among the top 100 schools in the world by the Spear’s/Carfax Index. We’ve also been an IB World School since 2018, achieving excellent IB Diploma results year-on-year.


In 2023, we joined the Nord Anglia Education global family. This has brought many benefits, from access to award-winning teacher training programmes and technology to exclusive collaborations with The Juilliard School, Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and UNICEF.

Today, we remain under the patronage of the bilingual Swiss Canton of Valais. Recognised for its high academic standards, the Canton advises SISD on academic matters, assures quality, and shares knowledge.
