While many of us will be relaxing on holiday in August, Regents International School Pattaya Year 12 student, Nikolay Poklonskii, will be attending a two week Business and Management Course at the prestigious Oxford Academy.
Oxford Summer Academy is an educational programme offering summer courses to high school students and is run as a collaboration between Oxford University and other leading UK educational institutions. Intensive two week programmes of 22 hours teaching per week are offered, with a written exam as well as a group presentation to lecturers required at the end of the course.
Nikolay will study the Business and Management Course and he is very clear about what he hopes to get out of it: "I hope to get a more in-depth knowledge of the subject. Business Studies is an essential course for me because I intend to study Business at university, after finishing the Regents IB Programme. I am looking forward to attending the exceptional lectures that are only available from an institution like Oxford. With its reputation as one of the best universities in the world, I am very excited and can not wait for the course to start."
When he graduates from Regents next year, Nikolay is considering studying either Business Administration or Linguistics. He already has an impressive record in Linguistics having won third place in the Russian National Linguistic Olympiad in 2013.
The school congratulates Nikolay on this achievement and wishes him well for the course.
At Regents, our specialist staff are experts at creating personalised support programmes for students with additional educational needs. That’s why, throughout October we are celebrating Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month.
