A transformative experience for Regents International School Pattaya educators

The conference offered six educators from Regents International School Pattaya an opportunity to engage with peers, explore forward-thinking teaching strategies, and strengthen their approach to student learning.

"My biggest takeaway from the conference was the emphasis on early intervention in the classroom and the use of AI to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. For my students, this means a more engaging and personalised learning experience, which can help cater to different learning styles and needs. It also re-enforced how much amazing opportunities Regents is offering the community and how we think outside the box and push boundaries. What I am most excited about and exploring now is the IB Careers Diploma as an alternative pathway for our students, this could be really exciting and open up some new partnerships" said Samuel Hodge, Deputy Head of Secondary at Regents International School Pattaya.

Driving innovation in teaching and learning

Nord Anglia Education places continuous professional development at the heart of its strategy, ensuring educators have the tools and knowledge to enhance student learning. The conference explored AI in education, neurodiversity, inclusive leadership, and other key topics shaping the future of teaching.

The event also focused on Nord Anglia’s groundbreaking research into metacognition—helping students develop an awareness of their learning processes to improve problem-solving and critical thinking.

“Through leadership discussions at the conference, our academic teams explored how to apply Nord Anglia’s latest research on metacognition," said Rob Walls, Head of Middle East Schools at Nord Anglia. "By embedding metacognitive strategies in the classroom, we help students develop the skills to become independent, self-directed learners. In offering a forward-thinking education, we are supporting skills development with our Nord Anglia educational framework centred around the continuous growth of the 6 Cs—ensuring our students evolve into critical, creative, committed, and curious learners, while collaborating compassionately both in and outside the classroom."

Strengthening our global community

For Regents International School Pattaya educators, the conference wasn’t just about professional development—it was also a chance to collaborate with peers from around the world and contribute to Nord Anglia’s global education community by delivering sessions at the conference.

Tamika Daley-Bacchus, Head of Primary at Regents International School Pattaya, explained how attending the conference made her feel even more connected to the global Nord Anglia community. “Attending the conference truly strengthened my connection to the wider Nord Anglia community. The opportunity to meet with colleagues in the JAWS workshop, who are facing similar challenges, was invaluable. It reminded me that we’re all part of a shared mission, working towards the same goal of putting students first.”

Tamika Daley-Bacchus continued “Being part of this network, with a strong focus on learning, action research, and preparing children for the future, was incredibly empowering. The commitment to these values is evident from the leadership down, and it’s motivating to be part of an organisation that prioritises students in such a thoughtful, purposeful way. This experience has reinvigorated my approach to education and reinforced the importance of collaboration and continuous growth in supporting our students’ success.”

The knowledge and strategies gained at the SEAMEI Teaching & Learning Conference 2025 will continue to shape outstanding learning experiences at Regents International School Pattaya, ensuring that students benefit from the latest advancements in education.
