In celebration of our 30th Anniversary and for the first time since November 2019, Regents International School Pattaya was proud to host the SEAMEI Model United Nations Conference welcoming over 120 students.
With schools from Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Yangon (Myanmar), Bangkok and the local area in Thailand joining together to develop solutions to challenging issues. Over two incredible days, our MUN conference brought together passionate delegates under the theme “The Compass of Compassion – Navigating Towards a Promising Future.” From thought-provoking debates to impactful resolutions, our delegates embraced empathy, diplomacy, and collaboration to tackle global challenges.
The students representing different countries from around the globe discussed a range of topics including:
- UNHCR - Protection and promotion of the rights of indigenous people
- WHO- Improving healthcare services for undocumented migrants
- UNEP - Enhancing the sustainability of electric vehicles
- DISEC - Preventing an arms race in outer space
- UNSC - applying compassionate strategies to sanctions on North Korea
Regents International School Pattaya students KenKen, Grace and Yuqiao told us "At our MUN conference, themed "The Compass of Compassion - Navigating Towards a Promising Future," has been transformative! Delegates engaged deeply in discussions, embracing empathy and inclusivity to address global challenges. Through immersive simulations, we've enhanced our understanding of diplomacy, fostering innovative solutions for a harmonious world. Let's continue this journey, championing compassion in all our endeavours."
A huge thank you to our delegates, chairs, and organisers for making this event such an inspiring, vibrant, and meaningful experience. Here’s to carrying the spirit of compassionate leadership forward!
