At Regents, our specialist staff are experts at creating personalised support programmes for students with additional educational needs. That’s why, throughout October we are celebrating Dyslexia and ADHD Awareness Month.
To mark this important month, our Head of Inclusion, Ms. Farrance, and SENDCo, Mr. Brennan, delivered assemblies to students from Year 1 to Year 13. They highlighted the importance of neurodiversity, discussing the challenges faced by individuals with dyslexia and ADHD. Most importantly, they emphasised the unique strengths and perspectives that come with neurodiverse ways of thinking. As an inclusive school, we are committed to fostering a culture of understanding, compassion, and empathy.
Ms Farrance, Head of Inclusion said, “At Regents, celebrating ADHD and dyslexia means recognising and valuing unique strengths like creativity, resilience, and big-picture thinking. By embracing these qualities, we foster innovation, empathy, and adaptability, creating a more inclusive and supportive school community.”
Learning support services are an integral part of the inclusion department at Regents. The inclusion team works collaboratively with classroom teachers to ensure that students receive the support they need to access the curriculum and tailor their academic journey to success.
