Boarding Benefits

This term our Boarding students have been reaping the benefits that being members of an extended family on an outstanding campus provides.

Activities so far this term have included:

Italian Dinner
Buongiorno! The Regents boarding students and staff gave the thumbs up to anItalian themed dinner where an authentic Italian experience was enjoyed – seafood pasta, risotto, pizza, garlic chicken, minestrone, strawberry panna cotta, gelato and freshly baked ciabatta were among the delights. Epicure, hai fatto un ottimo lavoro, grazie mille!

Evening Swimming
One of the most popular activities for boarders is an evening swim. The pool is open for them twice a week after dinner and at times during the weekend. Most of the boarders come to the pool for a bit of fun, whilst some use the time to have a serious workout and develop their fitness.

Baking
One of the weekly activities for the Primary boarders is baking. On a Thursday evening the students cook for “Green Grub” so the cakes are sold the following day in school. This term the boarders have baked banana muffins, apple cake, and made fruit ice lollies.

Board Games
One of the great things about Boarding is always having someone to play with. The Boarders in our Primary house have a selection of games and can often be found playing before dinner. Most popular at the moment is Risk, Magic or Chess.

Forest School
In Primary Boarding the students get a weekly opportunity to experience Forest School activities led by our Level 3 practitioner Mr Jamie Perrin. As part of the programme this term the boarders have identified trees, built and lit fires, and constructed activities' shelters. They have developed their leadership and team building skills and learnt to make judgments on risky activities, and thoroughly enjoyed these evenings.

A Day at the Beach
Our Boarders enjoyed a day at Sattahip Navy Beach. The children enjoyed playing in the water, digging in the sand and eating lots of delicious Thai food from the various restaurants along the beach. If you have never visited this beautiful beach before, our Boarding staff would highly recommend it for a relaxing day in a safe and scenic setting.

Frosty the Snowman
The Primary boarders had an exciting trip out to Frost. Following an early dinner, they took the short trip across the road and were soon being kitted up with thick coats and gloves to brave the cold. The children enjoyed climbing on the ice truck and especially the ice slide. They then enjoyed a drink at the ice bar out of an ice glass followed by a competition throwing the “glasses” at the wall. Some regretted their hasty decision to smash their glass when they saw others having a refill. Other attractions were the snowman and the igloo. Thoroughly chilled, the children then defrosted eating popcorn and drinking hot chocolate!
