The Junior Mathematical Olympiad is the follow on round to the UKMT Junior Mathematics Challenge, and of the 200,000 students around the world who sit the Junior Mathematics Challenge, only the top 1200 are invited to take part in the Olympiad.
Yun Seo should be exceptionally proud of his achievement. The Olympiad consists of Section A, 10 quick answer questions worth 1 point each, followed by five Section B questions, each worth 10 points. Guidance from the UKMT organisation suggests that a good candidate would answer most of Section A, and attempt at least two Section B questions. Yun Seo performed extremely well, answering the majority of Section A correctly, and attempting three Section B questions, gaining full marks on one of them!
