This week, Year 9, started their first unit of the year by looking at the reactivity of some different metals with hydrochloric acid.
They compared not only a variety of metals but also if they acted differently when powdered or in larger pieces. They learned about how to test for hydrogen – the gas evolved if the metals do react. All students acted in a safe manner and attained some great results.
