The hockey team at North Broward Prep has etched their names in history with an incredible third consecutive SAHOF State Championship victory! But their journey doesn't end there – next the USA Hockey High School National Championship in West Chester, Pennsylvania, kicking off on March 20th. This marks the fourth appearance for the team on the national stage.
A huge round of applause for the athletes who will play in the National Championship games. Goaltenders: Bladen Darling, Rutger Grady; Defensive Men: Brady Gentile, Luca Macarie, Christopher Moore, and Jake Pine; and Forwards: Jarred Ameen, Aspen Charow, Cooper Emerson, Ryan Folic, Markus Gentile, Tommy Isbister, Brian Pine, Cole Rosen-Nossen, Justin Rosenthal, Payton Shen, Cameron Shoop, Brendan Singleton, and Cody Zamat.

As the team gears up for the National Tournament, the players reflect on a season filled with triumph and camaraderie. Junior Brian Pine, freshman Jake Pine, and seniors Brendan Singleton and Cole Rosen share their thoughts on the memorable journey.
Junior Brian Pine #87 reflects, “This season was the best one yet! Winning 3 state championships in a row was unreal. I am proud of what we have carried out and look forward to trying to go 4 for 4 next year.”
Freshman Jake Pine #17 shares, “Overall, this past season was truly incredible. Winning the state championship and forming lifelong friendships with my teammates has been amazing.”
Senior Brendan Singleton #91 remarks, “Coming from a hockey city like Montreal, I could not be happier with the season we had. We have an unbelievable group of guys.”
Senior Cole Rosen #93 says, “This season was my favorite at North Broward, ending on a high note with our third straight state championship.”

North Broward Preparatory School recently hosted breakout star and alum, American Idol Top 10 2024 finalist Sam Kelly-Cohen (Class of 2018), better known as Kayko. He shared his journey from NBPS graduation, attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music, and reaching America’s television screens on American Idol. Dubbed the "Accidental American Idol" after being encouraged to audition by Katy Perry, Kayko's rise to stardom displayed the importance of hard work, dedication, and authenticity.
North Broward Preparatory School alumnus Michael R. Freiburghouse, Class of 2005, has been recognized as one of South Florida Business Journal's 2024 40 Under 40 honorees, a prestigious accolade that celebrates his exceptional leadership, business expertise, and substantial contributions to both his industry and the local community. Michael recently joined Fyzical Therapy & Balance Centers as Chief Financial Officer after holding similar roles and being instrumental in the growth and success of other South Florida based organizations such as PECAA and Logitix.
