Upper School After School Dismissal Protocols
We ask that all NB Upper School students and families familiarize themselves with and adhere to these dismissal protocols:
*The North gate (High School entrance) will open 3:30pm (2:30pm on Wed
and Thurs), five minutes prior to Upper School dismissal. We encourage
parents to arrive when the gates open and not before. Coconut Creek
Police will not allow traffic to queue at this entrance.
* Parents needing to access the pool or tennis courts will need to enter
through the South gate (Middle School entrance) prior to 3:15pm (2:15pm
on Wed and Thurs) and travel past the Middle School to access the North
side of campus.
NBPS has been working with the Coconut Creek Police Department on solutions to
create safer driving conditions on Lyons Road. Here is how you as parents can help.
* Do not arrive early for dismissal. Lower School traffic typically clears out
by 3:20 pm. The Upper School does not release until 3:35 pm. If parents
arrive between 3:35pm-3:40pm traffic should be moving steadily.
* If you have students in both Upper School divisions (Middle and High) we
encourage you to conduct your pick up in the Middle School loop using the
south entrance. The Middle School has a 1/3 of the population of the High
School and traffic is lighter.
* Parents should communicate with their children to make sure they are
present in the dismissal area when you arrive to pick them up. Please
continue to pull forward in the pickup area as possible while waiting for
your child to enter the car. If your child is not present within 5 minutes
after dismissal you may be asked to park your vehicle in the lot in order to
keep traffic moving off of Lyons Road and on to school property.
