The last day of our school year 2018-2019 was quite a picture. Lots of hugs, goodbyes, and tears.
Seeing the last day departure, the Move Up ceremonies and various awards given, I saw our MET students in a really good place – reflecting on a year of learning, of friendship, and of challenges mostly met. My first year as Head of School has passed and I know how much I have learned. I am thankful to every MET student, parent, teacher and staff member who gave their best to the work we did together this year.
As in any international school, there are too many goodbyes at year-end, and several families are moving on. We also have a few teachers who will not be back next year, and they too have said their goodbyes to their students and colleagues.
As we conclude the year there are a few points and reminders I want to leave with you all:
The list of highlights is too long for this space. I will close by giving my profound thanks to MET teachers and staff for all they give to our students. To those that are leaving, we wish them the best. To those who stay, we know they are the “bedrock” of our school. To the parents, we thank you for putting your faith in the MET, for helping make ours a special community, and for giving your time and effort to support the school and the learning.
To the students of the MET, I wish you a great break – some adventure, some reading, some learning, some fun. I remind you: You are the reason why we are here! And the reason we will be back on August 13 to start the 2019-2020 school year. I promise you that you can expect Passion and Excellence in All We Do!
