Moments of Pride for Léman

The students of Léman International School Chengdu have made great achievements in several academic competitions both domestically and internationally, demonstrating the profound academic skills and comprehensive quality of the students of LIS. 

Gold in Physics

In the 2024 British Physics Olympiad (IPC&SPC Final), our Year 13 student Seyun P. (Daniel) won the Gold Award for his solid foundation in Physics, sharp problem-solving skills and excellent creative thinking, which made him stand out from the many other competitors from all over the world. The Gold Award, which requires the winner to be ranked in the top 5% of the world, not only demonstrates Daniel's high level of physics ability and knowledge base, but also his spirit of relentless exploration and courageous challenge. 

Rising Star in Computer Science  

Meanwhile, Tianle D., a Year 13 student in our school, won the Gold Award in the American Computer Science League - All Star (ACSL-ALLSTAR) 2024 Senior Group Competition with his outstanding programming skills and rigorous logical thinking, which won unanimous praise from the judges. This achievement not only demonstrates Tianle's profound knowledge in the field of computer science, but also highlights the excellent results of our school's computer science education. 

‘World Scholar's Cup’ Another Success!  

In addition, at the recently concluded World Scholar's Cup 2024 Global Round in Dalian, our Year 5 student Jun Wei L. (Jeffrey) and Year 6 student Qi Shao S. (Sean) worked together and achieved outstanding results: winning 1 trophy, 4 gold medals, and 9 silver medals. The following table shows the details of the awards won by the two students: 

It is especially worth mentioning that they have successfully advanced to the 2024 WSC Tournament of Champions, where they will compete with other outstanding students from all over the world. We are proud of their achievements and wish them all the best as they continue to show the best of Léman students in future competitions.
