Xavi-Bourgeois-Royer

Mr Bourgeois graduated from the University of the West of England with a Bachelor of law degree with upper second-class honours. He continued his studies at the University of the West of England, achieving a Secondary Mathematics PGCE.

Mr Bourgeois’ career journey has been all educational based. After completing his graduate’s degree, Mr Bourgeois worked as a Teaching Assistant, where he developed a passion for supporting young people to realise their potential. After seeing how much of an impact teachers could have on students, this led him to pursue a career in education as a mathematics teacher. During his time teaching, Mr Bourgeois has also coached and mentored trainee teachers, helping them master the best practises of teaching.

In his social time, Mr Bourgeois enjoys critical thinking and problem solving. As such he is an avid lover of board games and puzzles. He enjoys sharing the experience of teaching new games to people and helping them understand the fun of problem solving and strategic thinking. He has taught many students how to solve a Rubik’s cube and introduced them into a vast number of games which help develop and practise a variety of key skills that can be used inside and outside the classroom. His passion for problem solving extends to more active hobbies such as bouldering and badminton.
