Mr Rutt graduated from the University of Leicester in 2002 with a BA (Hons) in History and went on to obtain an MA in Comparative History of Early Modern European Societies at the University of London (Birkbeck) before completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (History) from the University of Leicester.
Mr Rutt’s teaching career began in the UK where he taught History to students from Year 7 to Year 13 with a mission to instil a love of history in his students, bringing the subject to life through engaging lessons and a diverse curriculum. He has held various pastoral roles including Primary Transition Co-ordinator, Head of House and Head of Year. Mr Rutt's education philosophy places students at the centre of their learning, and is focused on helping them to achieve their personal best. As well as working in the UK, Mr Rutt spent several years teaching in Malaysia.
Outside of school, Mr Rutt is (of course) a huge lover of History, but this aside, he is an avid badminton player and runner. He loves to cook and eat out, as well as read and go to the cinema. Mr Rutt's biggest passion however is travel, and he has had the good fortune to travel all over the world; personal highlights include Pakistan, South Korea and Mexico - and he cannot wait discover more!
