Ms. Cryer graduated from the University of Sunderland with a Bachelor of Arts degree with first class honors in Business and Financial Management. After spending several years in industry, she later went on to gain her PGCE in Business from the same University. Ms Cryer is currently studying for her Masters in Accounting and Financial Management at the University of London.
Before becoming a teacher, Ms Cryer worked in Finance in New Zealand and the USA, predominantly for multinational law firms. Since becoming a teacher, Ms Cryer has further grown her passion for business and has experience as a Year Level Leader and Head of Department. Alongside teaching the IGCSE and IB she has introduced and expanded the BTEC and Entrepreneurship qualifications at her previous schools. Outside of the classroom Ms Cryer has experience with the Duke of Edinburgh award, organising trips and educational visits and teaching various styles of dance for school productions and clubs. She is particularly passionate about finance and relating the real world to business concepts. Ms Cryer enjoys sharing fun facts and finding creative ways to learn about business and believes in the importance of developing soft skills alongside knowledge and understanding.
Ms Cryer loves travelling and trying new experiences. She spent the summer backpacking around Central America, visiting Italy and Georgia and road tripping Thailand and is really looking forward to seeing Singapore. Ms Cryer loves being active by weight training, doing yoga and pilates and she really enjoys running 10KMs. In her social time Ms Cryer enjoys reading, camping, being outdoors and trying to beat her running time.
