Shahleeni gained her specialised teaching diploma in special needs at the National Institute of Education, Singapore. She further pursued her master's degree in curriculum and teaching there too.
Shahleeni began teaching in an early intervention school before teaching in a school where she supported students with ID(Intellectual Disability). She taught students aged between 7-12 while implementing the Universal Design for Learning where she could achieve more with all learners. She was able to support the students achieve life-long learning by equipping them with 21st-century skills that empowered them to be independent learners.
Her second professional teaching experience was in an enrichment centre where she guided primary level students in their academic pursuit of the high-stake examinations in Singapore. In addition, she taught the lower secondary students English, Mathematics and Science.
Shahleeni has a passion for music and was in the brass band when she was younger. She also enjoys solo travelling. When she is not travelling, her favourite activity is to watch her team Liverpool in the English Premier League!
