Rebecca Matues graduated from Northumbria University in Newcastle with a BA Hons degree in Primary Education. 

She completed her training in a wide range of school settings, gaining experience across the Primary and Early Years. During her degree, she specialised in mathematics due to her enthusiasm for problem solving. Prior to her degree, Rebecca completed a BTEC in advanced performance at Newcastle College, and performing arts continues to be a passion and interest of hers.   

Originally from Northumberland in the UK, Rebecca has taught in schools in the North-East of England and Buckinghamshire, where she taught across the Primary year groups and ran an after-school drama club. Rebecca began her international teaching journey in Qatar, before moving to Singapore.    

Rebecca believes in encouraging her students to be inquisitive, critical thinkers and to develop a growth mindset. Rebecca encourages child-led learning and creates lessons based on students' interests to build their curiosity while also ensuring that all students are challenged and supported.   

Out of school, Rebecca enjoys going to the gym, theater and eating out with friends. She also enjoys traveling and is enjoying exploring South-East Asia and this part of the globe.
