Nicole-Jones

Nicole Jones completed her teacher training in her hometown of Shropshire, England. She graduated with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education with master’s Credits from the University of Worcester. Since then, Nicole has enjoyed teaching in the Middle East, Shanghai and Singapore and has taught all ages from Early Years to Year 4.

Since graduating, Nicole has planned, taught, and filmed lessons in collaboration with the World’s Largest Lesson for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Generation Earthshot Prize, which was broadcast on the BBC. Nicole has also held leadership roles in Global Campus, Student Leadership and Social Impact, responsible for integrating the global goals and children’s rights into the curriculum.

Nicole is passionate about ensuring students’ voices are heard and that they are at the centre of their learning. Nicole creates a learning environment that is enriched with new, open-ended opportunities that foster the students’ interest and believes in empowering students by giving them the confidence and curiosity to discuss and develop areas that are important to them.

Outside of school, Nicole enjoys action sports such as skydiving, scuba diving and skiing, and before moving abroad, Nicole also competed in triathlons. She has a love for traveling and has spent time exploring all over South America, Africa, Asia and Oceania. To relax, Nicole enjoys yoga and taking long walks with her rescue dogs. While in Shanghai, Nicole began learning Mandarin and she hopes to continue practicing until she becomes more fluent.

A great deal of time and effort has gone into the structuring of classes for August, with staff considering each individual’s strengths, friendship choices and areas of development, in order to do their very best to create classes that are well-balanced. Due to the interrelated nature of the class composition, movement of students to other classes is not possible. Please do understand that this is a complex process and that every effort has been made to place each child into an environment in which they will thrive.
