Mariana-Guzman

In 2008 Mariana Guzman completed an undergraduate certificate in Early Childhood, and in 2011 Mariana graduated from the University of Alicante, Spain with a BA (Hons) in Primary Education.

Mariana moved to London in 2012, where she continued her professional development in Special Education Needs (SEN). She discovered her passion for working with these students to enable them to develop at their individual pace to maximise their full potential.

Mariana’s experience in the field of SEN is extensive and diverse. These include classroom teaching in KS3, KS4 and Post 16 working with students with severe and complex learning difficulties, physical disabilities, and students with an Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Recently, she has held leadership roles coordinating PSHE across the school, which led her to take part in a research project with the Department for Education, the UK in 2018.  It is for these reasons that she continued studying and completed SENCO at UEL and NPQML at UCL (London). Most recently, she was an Assistant Head Teacher with responsibilities for curriculum and assessment.

Mariana loves nothing more than enriching the SEN students’ lives, allowing them to unlock their full potential. She believes in creating high-quality opportunities for all SEN students, for example providing opportunities to access the community and develop their independent living skills.

Mariana has a passion for winter and water sports. She keeps active by practising Yoga and running. Most recently turning her attention to running short races and half marathons. She also enjoys travelling to new countries and discovering new cultures.
