Iris' love for teaching and flair for Chinese Language led her to attain a Master of Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages from East China Normal University and a Bachelor of Arts in Chinese (majoring in Teaching Chinese as A Second Language) from Shanghai Jiao Tong University in China.
Iris has four years of teaching experience based in Malaysia and she is excited to join Dover Court in 2016. She has previously taught in Cempaka International School and as a private tutor in Mandarin Journey Language Centre. Her postings in China and Thailand allowed her to work alongside colleagues and students of various nationalities, gaining her invaluable insights into different cultures.
To her, patience, sincerity and fun-loving attitudes are the most important traits for a teacher to gain young learners' trust and attention. During her service in Mandarin Journey Language Centre, she was part of the editorial team to produce learning materials for elementary and secondary schools. She also conducted intensive Mandarin courses for executives in the corporate sector.
She is passionate about sports and during her spare time, she enjoys swimming and playing badminton. Iris would like to travel the world, making new friends and gaining new experiences.
