Heidi Boysen obtained her BEd honours degree from the University of Wales and then taught in the UK before moving to North Carolina, USA to teach for two years.
After teaching in North Carolina, Heidi decided to reconnect with her German heritage and moved to Germany. She enjoyed the culture, mastering basic German and visiting with German relatives while teaching at an international school there. Following this, Heidi decided to return to the UK where she taught Year 4. After teaching in the UK, Heidi returned to international teaching. She is delighted to be working at DCIS as she feels the ideals of the school fit with her own.
Since being young Heidi has always wanted to be a teacher. She enjoys spending time with children, relishing their enthusiasm for new things and excitement about the world around them. She loves the moment when children who have been struggling with a concept suddenly understand; it makes her feel that all the hard work has been worth it. Heidi loves reading and shares her favourite books with each child she teaches.
During her spare time in Singapore, Heidi participates in as many sports as possible. She loves swimming and enjoys travelling and learning about other cultures.
