Gregory Verdon graduated last century from Charles Sturt University in 1994 with a Bachelor in Social Studies and went on to obtain a Master of Social Science (Criminology) in 2000. After a short stint in law enforcement with the Australian Federal Police, Greg went back to retrain as a teacher, obtaining a Master of Teaching (Hons) in 2003 from the University of Sydney.
Mr Verdon's teaching career began in the suburbs of Sydney before moving to an international school in Singapore for the next twelve years. During these years, Mr Verdon honed his pedagogy and curriculum knowledge, and was appointed to various leadership roles that accumulated in coordinating the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at the International School of Penang (Uplands), from which he joined Dover Court and returned to Singapore. This journey has allowed Mr Verdon to experience the full range of opportunities that international teaching provides, and he has a keen sense of making learning both meaningful and effective through the building of positive relationships with all members of the school community.
Mr Verdon has been involved in service-learning via CAS and Model United Nations' (MUN) for many years and strongly believes that such connectedness to real-life issues outside the classroom is essential to attain a deeper understanding of the world we live in. Mr Verdon is married with three young daughters and follows the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the cerebral sport of Rugby League as well as riding his bicycle rather slowly in the tropical climes of Southeast Asia.
