Eloise McCarthy graduated from the University of Essex with a BSc (Hons) in Biological Sciences and then went on to complete a PGCE in Primary Education, specializing in both Science and Mathematics.

Eloise began her teaching career in a mainstream school in inner London where she taught in the Early Years Foundation Stage for 2 years. Throughout her teaching experience, Eloise had a passion for teaching Special Educational Needs and thus moved to teach in an outstanding Special Educational Needs school with a focus on Autism. Here, she taught for 3 years, spanning across all key stages, and gained experience with a wide range of different learning needs. It is in this school where Eloise became a Phase Leader for Lower Key Stage 2, supporting all teachers and teaching assistance across the phase. This involved targeted training and modeling, assisting with planning and assessment as well as developing and overseeing curriculum provision for the phase.

Eloise strives to create a nurturing, safe, and stable environment for children to feel empowered and secure to take risks in their learning. She believes in delivering enriching, innovative, and inclusive lessons, intertwined with therapeutic approaches. Through this she develops a holistic and creative curriculum to support children at all stages of their academic, social, and emotional learning.

Outside of the classroom, Eloise loves spending time outdoors, exploring new places, and nature walks, especially when accompanied by her two dogs. She enjoys trying new restaurants as well as finding new recipes to cook and treats to bake at home for friends and family. She is also an avid reader and will find time to relax with a book.
