Eileen Chu Fang

Mandarin Primary teacher
Eileen-Chu-Fang

Eileen obtained a Master’s degree in Education at Flinders University and a Bachelor degree in Chinese literature at Hunan Normal University. She also achieved Professional Senior Teaching Certificates both for teaching Mandarin as the first language and second language.

Eileen has been fortunate to teach a wide range of ages and nationalities. After 8 years of teaching Chinese in a local public primary school in her hometown, she volunteered to teach Chinese language and culture to Year 10-12 students in a high school in Tangerang, Indonesia in 2006. A year later, she accepted a position at the Capital Normal University and taught Advanced Chinese language and oral Chinese to foreign exchange students. She appreciated the cultural exchange that took place in an international classroom. In 2008, Eileen was sent to Canada by Confucius Institute Headquarters to teach Year 1-4 students at the King George School. She really enjoyed working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds, so she joined the British School of Beijing, one of premium schools in the Nord Anglia family since 2011.

Eileen’s personal educational philosophy centres on her belief that all students have an ability to learn and that the learning experience itself should be enjoyed by both the student and the teacher. In line with this philosophy she is committed to delivering quality first teaching, rigorous assessment and personalised learning in all classes so that learners of all abilities are engaged, challenged, and feel valued.

Eileen is excited to be part of Dover Court International School and to share her enthusiasm for Chinese language and culture with her students.
