Mr Yim holds a Master of Arts (Hons) in International Business Management from Heriot-Watt University and a Post-Graduate Certificate of Education in Business Studies from Kingston University London, a course from which he graduated with Distinction. He is currently in the final stages of completing a Master of Research in Education; his research interests lie in the professional development and retention of teachers.

Mr Yim is joining Dover Court International School from Surrey, England where he has been teaching in an ‘Outstanding’, high-attaining secondary school. He particularly enjoys teaching the Marketing and Human Resources topics in Business and works to improve student understanding by linking his lessons to relatable, contemporary examples from the ‘real world’ of Business. He also focuses on developing students’ understanding of examination and assessment technique, underpinned by his experience of working as a GCSE Examining Team Leader for a major exam board.

Mr Yim strives to take an inclusive approach to his work, working collaboratively with parents to support young people. Alongside his school-based role, Mr Yim has been providing support to families whose children have additional learning needs.

Mr Yim remains committed to staying up to date with developments in both Business and teaching and is on the peer review board for the Chartered College of Teaching’s research journal. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his friends and family along with travelling to new places and immersing himself in different cultures. Having spent a few years living in Malaysia, he is looking forward to returning to work in South-East Asia.
