Asawari Wadekar graduated from the SNDT University in 1993, with a master’s degree, specialising in Fine Arts (Visual Arts.) She later qualified as a teacher with a PGCE for Sunderland University, UK in 2014. She has also studied multimedia and Interior Design.

Following her graduation, Asawari has worked in reputed international schools in Illinois, Zurich, Hong Kong, and Singapore teaching across the Primary age range; from EYFS to Lower Key Stage 2 teaching homeroom and visual arts. During this time, she gained valuable experience as PYP teacher, leading student wellbeing across the primary classes and is delighted to be joining Dover Court as a primary teacher. Asawari takes great pride in her teaching style and learning environment ensuring learning is always fun, creative and visual, allowing children to grow and develop into independent learners and thinkers. She has a keen interest in inquiry-based learning, encouraging children to build their knowledge and connecting the learning to the real world.

Asawari has exhibited her art in many countries including Singapore. She has led art workshops for children and adults. She enjoys and practices yoga and would be happy to conduct yoga for children. Throughout her teaching career, Asawari travelled the world, keen on exploring and experiencing a range of different cultures. Asawari speaks many languages including Marathi, Hindi, French and German. When away from her own classroom, she is a keen painter, traveller, and a singer.
