Andrea Lugo graduated from Carleton College (Minnesota, USA) with a BA in Spanish Literature (cum laude). She went on to obtain her MSc in International Development from the University of Birmingham (UK) and then a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Spanish and French from the University of Worcester (UK). 

Ms Lugo’s teaching career was established in the UK, first at a comprehensive school in Herefordshire and later at a grammar school in Warwickshire where she was central in developing the Programme of Study. She has experience teaching language to Years 7-13, has organised a trip to northern Spain for KS3 and participated in a KS5 trip to Mexico. Ms Lugo particularly enjoys inspiring students to engage actively with the language. She applies a student centred and wholistic approach to education with a specific focus on developing reflective learners.

Outside of school Ms Lugo likes to spend time with her family, play the piano as well as keep active. She is a member of a dragon boating team, runs with her dog and likes to cycle.
