A farewell from Deputy Head of Upper Primary Mr Ian Rinaldi

Dear DCIS Parents,

After 5 very successful years at Dover Court, I will be leaving at the end of this academic year to pursue a new challenge in the Middle East, taking on the role as a Head of Primary of a brand-new International School. Whilst I am very excited about this unique opportunity, I am equally saddened to leave Dover Court, a school so close to my heart.

Over the years as a Deputy Head in Primary, I have been able to see DCIS continue to evolve to the wonderful school it is today. Whilst there has been huge developments and growth in facilities and pupil numbers, I have been proud to be part of a Senior Leadership Team that has helped maintain the tight-knit community and family feel that has been ever-present in its history. There are many good international schools that offer a wonderful education to its students, but you would have to go a long way to find a school with a community as established and with such superb teachers, leading amazing learning. Dover Court is a special place for your child to be.

During my time here, I have been fortunate to work with with so many parents. Whether it be through meetings, events, workshops or assemblies, I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you all. It has been a real privilege to be a part of your child's educational journey and I hope that I was able to make a positive difference to their education. I always place children at the heart of my decision making and I hope this has been evident.

It is impossible to put into words how grateful I am to the Senior Leadership Team, the teachers, the parents and, most importantly, our incredible students. I have never gone a day at DCIS without a child making me laugh, smile or be proud. I wish all the families of Dover Court, past, present and future, the very best. Thank you for the opportunity. When I was a child, I would have loved to have come to this school.
