As part of the D of E award, the students in Year 10 are required to develop a skill. Some of our students have decided to undertake a first aid course as their skill.
The students are completing the internationally accredited Emergency First Responder course, taught by Mr. Winkley, one of our teachers. Throughout the course they will learn potentially life saving skills in the in the Primary Care section, including CPR, serious bleeding and spinal injury management. They will then be moving on to Secondary care, where they will learn to complete injury and illness assessments for non-life-threatening conditions.
