At Country Day School, our Early Childhood program embraces interdisciplinary learning through engaging, hands-on experiences, recognizing that the brain learns through what the hands do. Each unit begins with concrete instruction, allowing students to build a strong foundation before transitioning to more abstract concepts.

Active participation is key to deep learning, which is why our students explore topics in meaningful and interactive ways. For example, in Kinder, students are studying habitats by engaging in hands-on projects, visiting La Paz Waterfall Gardens to observe animals in their environments, and culminating the unit by creating their own habitat models. By actively engaging in their learning, students develop critical thinking skills, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the world around them.
