THE EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM AT CDS, COSTA RICA

At our international Preschool in San Jose, Costa Rica, our Pre-Kinder, Kindergarten, and Preparatory children play, discover, and experiment in a rich sensory environment. Through thematic units of work, our Early Childhood curriculum teachers nurture our students’ motor, social, emotional, and academic skills, preparing them for Elementary School.

ABOUT OUR EARLY CHILDHOOD CURRICULUM

Our bespoke Early Childhood curriculum in San Jose, Costa Rica, is designed to nurture our students’ all-round development as they progress through the age groups.

We build our young learners’ early knowledge and understanding across a range of areas – including the language arts, reading, mathematics, social studies, and science – through fun, thematic units of work.

We also believe in educating the whole child. In a stimulating, hands-on Early Childhood environment that’s rich in sensory experiences, our children enjoy engaging activities that encourage socialization, pique curiosity, and develop their inherent natural abilities.

SPECIALIST LESSONS AND CLASSES

CDS’ Early Childhood curriculum is supplemented by subject-specific classes. Taught by specialists, each class is designed to stimulate creativity, self-expression, fine and gross motor skills, and social interaction.
Our young learners enjoy specialist classes in:

LEARNING THROUGH PLAY

Early Childhood is an extraordinary time, when children develop their self-esteem, build relationships with their peers, and learn a myriad of new skills.

At our Kindergarten in Costa Rica, students do all this through play, discovery, experimentation, and exploration, which take place in a caring and loving environment. Fun, play-based activities include drama, art, music, and social games, which fully immerse our children in the learning process.
