We actively work to build a strong community across students of all ages, teachers, staff, and parents, and we make sure every student feels they belong here. This begins in morning meetings in Elementary School, where students discuss important topics — taking the opportunity to be seen and heard — and in our "Second Step" program that nurtures social and emotional skills through weekly themed classes.
All our students have a school advisor as their contact point and mentor to guide them through personal growth. Students deepen their social and emotional skills and learn practical techniques, such as organization and time management. Another helpful initiative is our advisory program, where our students learn about gratitude, kindness, respect, and character development, allowing for wellness and balance.
PURPOSEFUL LEARNING
Central to our ethos as a school, we help our students expand their worldview and move through meaningful experiences that work together to shape them as globally conscious leaders.
Many students lead, take initiative, and get involved in clubs that address various social concerns. These include the Zero Waste Youth Group, Student Council, Green Team, Sister School Program, Gay-Straight Alliance, Girl Up, and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). All contribute service, connect with different communities, create awareness, and raise funds or goods that benefit the environment and others.
