Important Upcoming Dates: 
  • Saturday, March 18th: 60th Anniversary Celebration- This is an adults-only event.
  • Monday, March 20th: National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony- After a six-year absence, the National Junior Honors Society is back, and we will hold our induction ceremony on March 20. More information will be coming soon.
  • Tuesday, March 21st: World Down Syndrome Day- Wear mismatched socks in honor of World Down Syndrome Day. Students will have an activity to bring awareness to Down Syndrome on Monday.
  • Tuesday, March 21st: Q3 Report Cards will be published for parent/student viewing on ISAMS.
  • Tuesday, March 21st-Friday, March 24th: Junior Global Games @ CDS- 6th Grade Nord Anglia students from The Americas will come to CDS to enjoy games, competition and local Costa Rican activities.
  • Wednesday, March 22nd: Afternoon Parent Teacher Conferences for grades 6-8 (2:30-4:30)
  • Wednesday, March 29th: Parent Teacher Conferences for grades 6-8 (8:00-2:30) 
High School Course Selection for 2023-2024 

It’s hard to believe, be we are already scheduling students for NEXT YEAR’s high school courses.  This past week, Mr. DeVega met with current Junior students to schedule courses for next school year.  Next week, he will begin meeting with current Sophomore students.  If you have questions about course availability or best ideas for your student, please feel free to contact Mr. DeVega @ gerardo.devega@cds.ed.cr .

MIT Roller Coaster Challenge for MS Students 

We are excited to announce that we are bringing the MIT Roller Coaster Challenge to our Middle School students this spring. You may recall that our High School students competed in the Challenge earlier this year.  More information will be shared following spring break, but LINKED HERE is a preview of what our MS students will be doing . . . and LEARNING.

Course selection meetings will resume next week. At the Secondary Office we have been working nonstop to better align curriculums and offer a more rigorous course load. We have added some new APs such as Psychology and Computer Science A. Also, students are now allowed to take 5 APs per year.
