April 1st marks the start of what is sometimes called “exam season” – individual oral assessments in languages, including German and Spanish, can take place from today, and the formal written IGCSE and A-level exams begin before the end of the month.
This April some of the first written exams sat by students at The British School of Nanjing will include A-levels in Psychology (26th April) and Marine Science (28th April). These subjects mark new steps for BSN and reflect the growth in our provision as well as the passion of our students for learning. With competition for places at the best universities growing, it is important that students find this passion and prepare for this exciting step early.
Our current Year 13 students began this journey many years ago, when they selected their IGCSE courses in Year 9, their A-levels at the end of Year 11 and in the projects, activities and roles they have taken on. We are now seeing the fruits of this labour, with offers from some of the world’s leading universities. With more decisions from universities in America, Korea and Singapore, yet to be made, we are confident this list will grow ever longer in the coming month. Congratulations to all our Year 13 students and good luck to all those facing exams when we return to school!
