We take the profoundest pleasure in announcing the pinnacle of student success here at BSN.
Two of our students achieved the highest examination marks in China, whilst one student achieved the highest examination mark in the world!
‘Every year Pearson recognise and celebrate Pearson Edexcel learners globally who have demonstrated academic excellence at the very highest levels in their assessments. Their Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLAs) are presented to those learners in each exam series who have achieved the highest subject mark in their country, in the region, and around the world’ – Pearson.
Introducing Our OPLA Students and their teachers…
Tina has been awarded the Highest Mark in China Award in GCSE Statistics.
“Tina is an outstanding mathematician and worked diligently to learn the whole GCSE Statistics course in only four months. She quickly learned all the formulae and was able to interpret the results she obtained. Her written explanations of the data were always articulate and precise. I am very proud of Tina and all that she has achieved in Statistics so far” - Mrs Witt-Williams.
Emma has been awarded the Highest Mark in China Award in IGCSE Geography.
“Congratulations to Emma on receiving the Highest Mark in China Award in IGCSE Edexcel Geography! This outstanding achievement is a testament to Emma's dedication, intellectual curiosity, and exceptional understanding of geographical concepts. As her Geography teacher, I am immensely proud of her hard work and commitment to academic excellence. Her unwavering dedication to her progress in Geography has been evident both within and outside of lessons. Emma's achievement not only reflects her individual success but also serves as an inspiration to her peers. Well done, Emma, on this well-deserved honour! - Mr Hanlon.
Leo has been awarded the Best in the World Award in GCSE 3D Art and Design.
“‘Best in the World’ is an amazing accolade whenever or wherever the honour is bestowed for success in any field or discipline. I am therefore immensely proud of Leo in attaining the award of Best in the World for GCSE 3D Design. Leo produced two outstanding portfolios of work: the first, a series of ceramic, wire, paper and wood sculptures. Each a beautiful form that twists and turns its way skyward on the theme of ‘transition’. The second, an outstanding exam piece, a sculpture that uses light, shadow, and projected light, to find beauty in the qualities of deterioration and decay.
There is an old saying, that success is one percent inspiration and 99 percent perspiration. Perspiration is the daily grind, commitment to a task. It is the less glamorous side of success, but nevertheless, it is the engine, the driving force that makes success possible. Leo is the embodiment of this” - Mr Lungley.
Thanks to the success of our students and the remarkable work conducted by their teachers, BSN has been once again bestowed with The Pioneer Award 2023!
‘This award is to recognise and celebrate those centres which have students received 2023 Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards for their outstanding results achieved in the 2022/2023 examination series’ – Pearson.
Pearson holds the OPLA Award Ceremony for students and their families to be able to attend in person and celebrate success together.
Here at BSN, we will have a special edition of our December BSNews magazine to further recognise our three OPLA students and their experiences at the actual awards ceremony in Jiaxing! – Be sure not to miss it!
