Our EYFS curriculum
Our Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Reception children follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. At this formative stage, our teachers will guide your child through seven key learning areas:
- Communication and language.
- Physical development.
- Personal, social and emotional development.
- Literacy.
- Maths.
- Understanding the world.
- Expressive arts and design.
Your child will learn fundamental language and literacy skills through themed speaking and listening activities, as well as pre-reading and pre-writing programmes. In maths, our teachers introduce simple ideas through fun, hands-on activities.
The perfect learning environment
Learning takes place in our bright classrooms and purpose-built early years spaces. Your child will get creative in our construction zone, learn about animals and plants in our natural world area, and develop their motor skills in our colourful outdoor playground. Classroom walls are covered with our children’s arts and crafts and packed with interactive equipment and learning materials.
Understanding the world
We teach our children about their environment, the people around them, and the natural and man-made world. Personal and social development focuses on working, playing, and building friendships – giving them a sense of belonging in a group outside of their family. We also encourage a respect for others.
Happy and healthy
From their first day, we support your child to be healthy and active. Our physical development programme, which is full of exciting indoor and outdoor activities, develops control, mobility, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness.
