We are delighted to welcome more than 3000 parents, children, friends from the community, sponsors and vendors to our BSB Shunyi Winter Fayre and German Market on Saturday 9th December, 2023!
Everyone enjoyed the amazing German Christmas Market outdoors with traditional wooden huts, thanks to our Parents’ and Teachers’ Association (PTA)! They organised a great selection of hot food and beverages including sausages, Goulash soup, fresh waffles, homemade cookies, hot chocolate, mulled wine and other delicious options.
Each year, a significant part of the fayre is to raise funds for charity. Together we can make a difference!
We are pleased to inform that RMB 30,000 has been donated to the charity Dew Drops. Their mission is "to build a new life for at risk children born with medical needs from orphanages and improvised families". Please see the donation presented to Dew Drop representative Ms. Rebekah by our Student Councils on 12th December.
The BSB Charity Calender and Christmas cards contains painting done by our students were on sale with proceeds going to Dew Drops. There were also lovely Christmas ornaments created by our students during their after school Co-Curricular Activities (CCA).
Helpinghands is a public welfare project aiming to provide support for families of leukemia children. BSB has donated our old uniform for their mothers to make headbands and other handicrafts, bringing their families income and hope.
Our IB Diploma students organised the very popular Santa’s Grotto, where children had the chance to meet Santa in his Grotto for a truly magical experience. This is part of their CAS project raising funds for their 2 chosen charities. Half will be donated to Seeway Tanzania, a charity that supports communities in need within that country and that our Team Tanzania students are going to be working with in February 2024. The other half will be donated to MuLanHuaKai (木兰花开), an institution that aims to aid migrant female workers and their children who are left behind.
Children had a fun time playing games hosted by our dedicated teachers. Many prizes were won in the Lucky Draw and everyone enjoyed shopping and browsing the variety of stalls.
Our talented students and parent choir gave such spectacular performances too. Well done everyone!
Our sincere appreciation to all our sponsors and vendors! Thank You to everyone who supported our Winter Fayre & German Market! See you next year.
