PTA Welcome Letter 9th August 2024

PTA Welcome Letter 9th August 2024 - PTA Welcome Letter 9th August 2024

9th August, 2024

Dear BSB Families,

On behalf of the PTA (Parents’ and Teachers’ Association), it is with great joy that I welcome our returning families back and our new families to our BSB community.

Last academic year, we changed our name to Parents’ and Teachers’ Association (PTA) from Parents‘ Association (PA) in light of our school’s chosen theme “Belonging”. Emerging from the aftermath of the pandemics, this simple word takes on such a significant meaning and embodies what our BSB stands for.

The moment you enrolled your children into BSB you officially belong to our PTA. We are a team that supports our simple mission creating a community of belonging “For Our Children.” With simple PTA motto, everything we - leadership, teachers, and parents do is “For Our Children.” We believe that having a strong community that supports our faculty as they seek to help each child thrive both academically and in their character, is our greatest parental role as part of the BSB community.

With this in mind, you will find that we have a vibrant PTA at BSB. We have a team of 20 Steering Committee members that make up 10 different teams of parents who are already busy organize different community building opportunities, welcoming new families, serving our school and working to celebrate our unique International student body.

  • Our teams include Clubs and Activities which organize parent classes from Yoga and Tai Chi to English and Chinese Classes.
  • Our New Families team seeks to welcome each family so that before your child even begins school at BSB you feel our sense of community.
  • As many of you know and some of you will learn our big events include International Day, Santa Secret Shop, Halloween Bake Sale, German Christmas Market, our beloved Roundabout Book fair and term luncheons.
  • We serve our community with our much needed Used Uniform Sales and help to celebrate community with our BSB apparel.
  • We also serve our community with Parent Classroom Representatives, Thank You Teacher Breakfasts and volunteers for our many sporting events as well as performances.
  • Our PTA team supports our students that are seeking to raise money for their trips to Tanzania as well by serving at the Chatterbox, our BSB cafe, and we seek to serve our greater community by supporting Helping Hands as well as Happy School. Both of these organizations help families whose children are fighting Leukemia.
