BSB Choir delighted audiences at the British Ball 2022

On Saturday 12^th November, the Year 5 and 6 Choir performed once again at the annual British Ball Beijing. What an experience! The children had such a lovely evening and everyone could feel their excitement the whole time, from the sound check to the performance in the ballroom.

This year’s theme “Now that’s What I call 90s!” is a challenge for the choir, but nothing impossible! Starting from Brit pop song “Alright” by Supergrass, the "bona fide teen anthem", with its upbeat lyrics and cheerful piano tune, which makes everyone want to dance. Through very nostalgic and touching “For your Babies” by Simply Red, a ballad of a proud dad serenading his little child with loving hopes for his future during the sleepless days of early parenthood. Then famous but not the easiest song “Wonderwall” by Oasis. But I think everyone’s favourite was “Bring it All Back” by S Club 7 our final song where everyone couldn’t stop singing “Na na na..”

The Year 5 and 6 Choir students have been preparing for this performance since the first day of school. They had to work very hard to be ready for this performance, and we are so very proud of them. They sang beautifully and represented BSB Shunyi very well. 

Dame Caroline Wilson DCMG, British Ambassador to the People's Republic of China also gave a speech during the event. The British Ball also raised money for the charity “Educating Girls of Rural China” and BSB is honoured to play a part in contributing to a great cause.
