Join Our Open Morning (for students ages 0-4)
CHAMPIONS! Not once, but twice! It was a glorious morning of sport for our Year 6 students last Saturday morning who competed in the Masters Handball Tournament at Keystone Academy.
Our Year 6 girls team were first up to play in a crowded gym full of parent spectators, and they were absolutely outstanding from start to finish. They breezed through the group stages showing fantastic teamwork, skill and communication as they went on to win every game before going on to beat Keystone in the semifinal, and then capping it all off with a cup final win against WAB, incredible!
The Year 6 boys team however, had a much harder journey to the final. After a first round defeat to WAB in the group stages, the boys had a lot of work to do and were given a clear message to never give up regardless of the scoreline. A message that sparked a comeback in their next few games including an astonishing comeback from 2-6 down to win 8-6 and get a spot in the semifinals, and then another comeback in the semifinal against Keystone to win 4-3, and then a one final (in the final) comeback to win the tournament against WAB 6-4, unbelievable!
A huge congratulations to both Year 6 teams for a great morning and handball and more importantly, a lovely experience and memory to remember.

Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do, and it extends far beyond literacy. It is transdisciplinary, meaning children naturally integrate their knowledge of phonics into storytelling, create maths stories, and weave in elements of science, curiosity, and their understanding of the world.
This term, Year 2 have been learning about many interesting people in our ‘What makes someone inspirational?' Topic. They have explored space pioneers, technology forerunners, civil right activists, inventors and many other inspiring individuals.
