International Mask-Making workshop

A great crowd of artists were busy in the Atrium on Tuesday afternoon with 53 entries into the mask competition. A big thanks to June Year 13, Irem Year 12 and Deshika Year 10 for leading and supporting the mask-making workshop, as well as shortlisting the finalists.

Students made Mexicas Aztec masks from Mexico, Bian Liang masks from China, Busojaros masks from Hungary, Venetian masks from Italy, Tiki masks from Polynesia, Makishi masks from Zimbabwe and Zambia, and lastly Bongsam Talchum masks from Korea. After some careful blind judging by Ms Evans, these are the results; Aarush of Year 7 Endeavour came 1^st, closely followed by Dia of Year 9 Kontiki in 2^nd place, Agata of Year 7 Calypso in 3^rd place, and Sneha of Year 10 Discovery in 4^th place!

Honourable mentions go to Rumi in Year 8 Endeavour, Ayin in Year 11 Calypso, Sam in Year 11 Kontiki,  Chloe in Y8 Discovery, and Nilanjana in Year 9.

After adding the points and participation together here are the house points:

1^st Endeavour 50hp,

2^nd Kontiki 35hp

3^rd Calypso 20hp

and 4^th Discovery 5hp.
