NAE MUN 2022 Thursday and Friday 17th-18th February was the Nord Anglia European Model United Nations, graciously hosted by Collège Champittet.

Thursday and Friday 17th-18th February was the Nord Anglia European Model United Nations, graciously hosted by Collège Champittet.

BISB students had a wonderful time participating in the debate, with approximately 100 delegates from Warsaw, La Cote, Champitett, Beau Soleil, Madrid, Rotterdam, Moscow, Bratislava and Prague. They also did exceptionally well, winning an unprecedented amount of awards!!

The Prize winners were:

  • Emily Waltham for best position paper in ECOSOC,
  • Adam Mendelenyi for best opening speech
  • Pedro Zwack for best speech in WHO,
  • Daniel Lehoczky for best resolution in WTO.

We also had some winners of ‘Best Delegate’, with BISB students bringing home the title in 5 out of 6 committees:

  • Helena Niddam for best delegate in DISEC
  • Mira Bulyovsky for best delegate in Security Council
  • Lili Krasznai for best delegate in ECOSOC
  • Max Ding for best delegate in UNODC
  • Daniel Lehoczky best delegate in WTO

Three of our students - Srinidhi Seshan, Julianna Kutas and Khadija Zulqarnain - were selected as co-chairs, liaising with students from other schools to plan their committee's resources, activities and sessions.

The Conference was on War and Peace and the students found it a motivational experience, stretching their creativity and problem solving as they took on the role of world leaders to solve the world’s problems in less than 48 hours!

Next week the group go to KARMUN, a large conference in Budapest and we hope they will have similar success.
