In Year 7 Humanities lessons, we have been studying the purpose of medieval castles. Year 7 students worked to design castles with realistic representations of key features of castles during this time, including machicolations, mangonels, merlons and embrasures.
Our students used a wide range of creative design tools including Lego, Minecraft, digital design software, or even just pen and paper! An impressive range of creations were well-explained and our students had convincing accounts of design choices so that their castles projected political power in the feudal system!
