The CCA Scene - Secondary
We've had another packed term of Co-Curricular Learning (CCL) activities above and beyond the classroom for our Secondary students. I would like to say a massive thank you to all the staff who organised and co-ordinated the CCAs and also to all the students who participated so enthusiastically! WELL DONE, EVERYONE!
We are now delighted to provide you with the Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) brochure detailing our new Term 2 programme for the Secondary school for 2021-2022.
Our Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) programme for Term 2 will commence on Monday 17th January.
Please note that there is no available registration for Sports/BISB Wolves as this was already coordinated with the Season 1 to Season 2 changeover for the week beginning Monday 29th November.
If your child missed out on this registration, please ask him/her to contact the lead teacher responsible for that particular CCA.
Registration for CCAs
- To sign up your child for CCAs, you must complete the registration process online via the platform CHQ which opens from 06:00 on Monday 13th December until 09:00 on Wednesday 15th December
- New parents will have received log-in information for CHQ
- Returning parents should use their existing log-in information for CHQ
- Please follow the instructions in this CHQ Guide for Parents for help with signing up your child/children for CCAs
- Please check that you can log in on CHQ before registration begins on Monday 13th December.
- Should you have a query relating to CHQ registration then please refer to katalin.sziraki@bisb.hu in the first instance.
New Information Reminder
- From this year the term Social Impact has replaced the term CAS for the sixth strand of CCAs so as to encompass them more accurately
- Additionally, to help students complete their CAS portfolios at IB and the new CCL e-portfolios to be introduced for Year 10, we have added an extra column to the tables in the brochure
- CCL e-portfolios will be introduced for Years 7-9 in due course
- This should serve to clarify whether a CCA can be considered as Creativity (C) - Activity (A) - Service (S) or, indeed, any combination of these
- You will find that the respective columns for CAS have been shaded in green in the tables on the CCA information pages
CCA Payments
- Most of the activities in our CCL programme are led by members of staff and are free of charge
- Some activities run by external providers incur a cost and payment details are indicated in the brochure
- Parents should deal directly with the external providers for all CCAs which incur a cost
Covid-19 Protocols
- Please rest assured that all of the school’s Covid-19 health and safety protocols will apply to all CCAs in order for them to run effectively
- This applies equally to any external providers who will host CCAs at our school
Additional information about CCAs for Sports/BISB Wolves
- Please note that the CCA provision for Sport/BISB Wolves operates on a slightly different timetable to the rest of the CCAs
- Sports/BISB Wolves CCAs for Season 1 ended on Friday 26th November and Sports/BISB Wolves CCAs for Season 2 began on Monday 29th November
We look forward to your child’s participation in what promises to be an exciting CCA programme in the new year.
If you have any queries relating to the CCA programme then please do not hesitate to contact me.
